You can become a supporter of the Lea County Tribune and help us provide quality reporting on local issues to everyone in the area for free. We have recently set up an account on Patreon which will allow you to sign up as a patron and support the Tribune for as little as $3 per month.
We have multiple support tiers on Patreon, so you can choose the amount that works best for you. All patrons will receive access to our patron-only posts on Patreon.

Why Your Support Is Needed
Local news provides an incredibly important service to communities, particularly rural ones without a major metro hub nearby. As newspaper subscriptions decline, local newspapers close down or cut back on their reporting, leaving people in smaller communities without good sources of information.
The Lea County Tribune depends on the support of the community to fund its operation. This includes hiring local journalists to report on stories in the community as well as costs associated with keeping the website up and running for free to the public.
Your contributions allow us to investigate more local stories, spend more time digging into the details of each one and produce photo and video content.
While we have a few ads on the site, very little revenue is generated from advertising because Lea County is a small market. We want to continue bringing quality reporting to the community and need your support to do that.

Supporter Tiers and Perks
We have three levels of support available with unique perks. Each level has a minimum monthly contribution, but you can choose to contribute more if you’d like.
Lea Signifer
Our first level is the Lea Signifer at a contribution of $3 or more. For less than the cost of a cup of coffee each month, you can help support local journalism.
Our Lea Signifers will get access to our patron-only posts on Patreon and have our gratitude.
In Ancient Rome, a signifer carried the banner of its cohort, helping to rally courage and pride.
Lea Procurator
Our next level is the Lea Procurator at a contribution of $6 or more. At this level, supporters will be credited publicly for their support of the Lea County Tribune.
All Lea Procurators will be mentioned on our Supporters page and receive a social media shout-out each quarter when we thank our supporters.
In addition, supporters at this level will receive all the perks of the Signifer level.
Lea Consul
Our highest level of support is the Lea Consul at a contribution of $10 or more. This level will receive VIP merch every six months in addition to all perks from lower support levels.
The Lea County Tribune will create and deliver various VIP merch to its Lea Consul supporters. This merch will include things like t-shirts, tote bags, notebooks and more.
These will be unique items with limited production.

Sign up as a patron before the end of 2023, at any support level, and you’ll receive a free Lea County Tribune t-shirt, while supplies last. Once you’ve signed up, you will be contacted for color and size preferences. Sizes under S and above XL are limited and may not be available in a particular color.
